Brent Galen Adkins (they/them) is a Philadelphia-based artist whose photography examines intimacy, identity, and the reciprocal relationship between people, communities, and the environments they inhabit.

Their practice centers on collaboration, inviting subjects to act as active participants in the image-making process through sustained dialogue and long-term engagement. Grounded in queer lived experience, their work investigates how social, legal, and environmental systems structure human and nonhuman co-existence and the conditions under which intimacy and identity take shape.

They are drawn to sites where that structure becomes legible: places where constraint and self-determination coexist, where cultural prohibitions and carefully-cultivated landscapes are transgressed. Across urban interiors and rural expanses alike, they trace the ephemeral and material qualities of communal ecosystems shaped by collective care, interdependence, and creative survival.

Adkins holds a BFA from Rowan University. Their work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at venues including Vox Populi, Practice Gallery, and Millepiani Rome. Ongoing projects include Afters, Bruised Heels, Our House, and Home Again.

They are available for commissions or collaborations. Reach out for photography work, prints, or creative assistance.
